Well, yesterday was spent tightly indoors - cold! The car still started nicely this morning. However, the background problem hasn't gone anywhere. I still can't save the changes to the templates, so... some of you have to stare a deadly boring white background.

Koska eilinen meni sisällä, se meni, naturellement, lukien ja neuloen/virkaten. Tein Sandness Kittenistä kokonaista kolme mallitilkkua kolmilla eri puikoilla.

As yesterday was an indoor day, I, naturellement, spent it reading, crocheting and knitting. I knitted three gauges with three different sized needles.

Ensin puikoilla nro 6, koska ne ovat bambuiset. Ei hyvä, liian harva. Sitten puikoilla 5½. Siedettävä, mutta kuitenkin vielä yksi yritys puikoilla 5. Lopulta päädyin sukkapuikkoihin nro 5. Siis Olympia-koitoksenihan on Branching Out, joka mahtuu juuri sopivasti sukkapuikoille. Metalliset pitkät puikot ovat minun hennoille käsilleni nykyisin liian raskaat - olen siis pilalle hemmoteltu! Hennot kädet - vuosisadan vitsi! Kaikki mallitilkut on tunnollisesti purettu. Nyt ohje (suomennettu), langat ja puikot odottavat viekoittelevasti kuiskaillen olkkarin pöydällä. Vielä neljä yötä!!! Sormet vapiset innosta.

At first with 6mm needles, because they are made of bamboo. Not good, too loose. Then with 5½mm. bearable, but still one more try with 5mm needles. Finally I decided to take double pointed needles 5mm. For The Knitting Olympics I'll make Branching Out, which just the right size to be knitted with double pointed needles. I don't like long metallic needles any longer - they are too heavy for my slender arms - I'm spoilt! Slender arms - the joke of the century! Every gauge has been dutifully undone. The pattern (translated into Finnish), yarn and needles are waiting for Friday on my livingroom table. Every time I glance at them, they whisper to me seductively...Four more nights! My fingers are shaking in anticipation.

So that I wouldn't suddenly run out of knitting/crocheting (I really can't remember any of my unfinished works) I began to crochet a poncho for the summer. Summer, because it's so light and airy, although the yarn is Maija (wool). Nothing more about that at this stage.

Kuvassa taustana on noin vuonna 88, lukiolaisena tekemäni poppana. Muistan vieläkin kun mummo toi lihakeittoa termarissa käsityöasemalle...(silloiselle) kasvissyöjälle.

In the background, in the picture, you can see a table cloth made by me probably in 1988. I don't know the name of that kind of weaving in English. I still remember my granny bringing hot meat soup for me in thermos flask - and I was then a vegetarian.
